Aza has been found!

Peg Arnold's 4 year old self-red spayed bitch Aza escaped from her soft crate at the Eagle CO shows at 11 AM today, Sat July 17. Peg has been searching all day. Police and shelters have been notified and it's being announced on local radio.

The local copy place was closed for the weekend, there is no Kinkos/FedEx nearby, and Peg is trying to spend her time searching before Aza gets too far away. If anyone has a printer and could make flyers, we can email a photo. If flyers can somehow be delivered to Peg, it might save a life. We are more than happy to pay any expenses associated with this.

She is friendly, but may be too scared to approach people by now.

If anyone sees her, please call Peg on her cell and she will go to the location ASAP.

Sabrina has been found!

Sabrina had just arrived from out of state and bolted.  She is in an unfamiliar area and we are worried sick.  She was last seen at my address 3301 hwy 34 Ninety Six SC 29666, my cell is 864-941-0476. husbands cell is 864-941-1400, my husband is the chief of police here so they can call the police station too at 864-543-3122.  She is not chipped, she is one year old and about 50 lbs

This boy was dumped dumped in a shelter in Eunice, LA.  He is at least 5 years old but could be as old as 8. It is hard to tell.  We can find no micro chip.  He has dewclaws. He is a very sweet and well mannered intact male but does have a high prey drive. We have 10 days until he is neutered to find his breeder.  If no one claims this handsome Boy, he will be neutered and placed.

Just got  call from Jamie Dobrowski.  while lure coursing today two of her Borzoi got out while staying with her aunt.  They are not familiar with where they are.

Dolly was found running at large in the Oakland hills - no collar, no tattoo, no microchip. No owner has come forward to claim her. We have used all our resources to find her owner without success. We have checked Craigslist since early September for lost dog posts, and have been running a found dog post since we picked Dolly up from the Oakland shelter. We have called every vet in a 15-mile radius of where Dolly was found. We have checked Bay Area newspapers for classifieds and have checked all the on-line classified sites.

We simply cannot believe this girl is not missed!  She is well trained, socialized, lead trained, was found in good condition, has excellent obedience skills, and was obviously a house pet. No day has gone by in foster care without Dolly standing by the gate waiting to go back home. We hate to think someone is missing their beloved Borzoi and unable to find her.

Since we can't find the owner, how about the breeder? Perhaps the owner has other Borzoi or a relationship with Dolly's breeder and we can solve this mystery!

Darcy is a female Borzoi, about 28-30" tall. Mostly white with large brown/tan spots, short soft body coat with longer feathering on legs and tail. Her ears have a black edge. She is usually very friendly, was not wearing a collar but is micro-chipped.

Flyers and faxes have gone out. Sheriff, Vets, shelters, and neighbors have all been contacted.

Ryker is a large 2 yr old White & red spotted intact male. He was well groomed at the time of his disappearance.  He is microchipped, but I don't know if he had on a collar. His co owner lives in Bernalillo which is a bedroom community just north of Albuquerque (Albuquerque is a MSN city).  Ryker was last seen Friday night in pursuit of a rabbit headed south on the banks of the Rio Grande River. 

Ryker's co-owner is Gary Johnson (who has owned several older rescues from Borzoi Rescue before).  His telephone number is 505 270-2101.  He moblized the neighbors and they have been searching for several miles around Bernalillo and up and down the river.  There will be an ad in the paper tomorrow. 

Strider has been FOUND!!!

Lost - 15 month old male puppy in Olympia, WA.  Strider is an irish marked brindle with a white blaze on his face.  Strider is being trained as a medical alert dog.  He somehow got loose in the woods near Evergreen State Collage.  He has been missing for an hour.  Family is out looking for him.  Strider is very friendly, loves people and other dogs. Will pretty much go up to everyone.  I have advised to get flyers up and notify, Vets, shelters, pounds, police, papers, radio and TV stations.  If you know anyone in the area who could help look for Strider, please call 360-352-9770 or 360-866-1901.

The boys' parents have been found! The one boy is at home while the injured boy will be at the vet for a little while longer for observations. Thank you to all who helped.

There were 2 adult male Borzoi found in Kirkland WA. They are both at the Animal Emergency Clinic right now. One of them is in VERY CRITICAL condition, having been hit by a car. We need to find the owners ASAP, or he will not make it, do to the extent of his internal injuries.

One is neutered & is a mostly brown tri-color & the other is intact & is a mostly black tri-color. They are adult dogs.

One is chipped to a Nevada clinic – but the chip has not been registered.

Is anyone missing these dogs???? HELP!

Missing Borzoi as of 5:30pm 10/2/08. We adopted him 2 days ago and my fiance accidentally left the door open. He is VERY scared and may be running or hiding. Last seen on Horse Hill Road RT 145 going north into the woods.

Male dog, 7 months old, previous called "Jacob", all white with brindle head and patch on hip.Looks like long haired greyhound, wearing big collar with sock monkeys on it.
Please do not chase, he will run. Loves food, women, and anyone who will sit on the ground for him to come over to them.

Merkusha has been found

Merkusha is a 6 year old, intact male borzoi.  He is white with gold markings and is wearing a blue collar with the owners phone numbers on it.  He also has a home again microchip.  Merkusha got loose from his handler at or near the dog shows in Wenatchee Washington this morning (9-15-08)

Myna disappeared from our hike at about 1pm on 3/18/08 in Haskell, OK which is just southeast of Tulsa. She is white with a grey mask and a grey spot on her right side. She has a reverse scissor bite and dew claws have been removed. She is about 26.5" at the withers. She is not microchipped or tattooed. She is 1.5 years old.

A female Borzoi was turned into the Glenwood, ILL animal control as a stray around 3/18/08. They kept her for a week then turned her over to the Chicago Heights Shelter on the 24th. She has no dew claws, likes men and women,is completely house trained and gets along with Sue's house dogs just fine. We believe she is someone's pet and was obviously very much loved. She is between 4&6 years old, no chip or tattoo. Sue has called several other shelters and vet offices in the general area with no luck. She will also check news papers. A young Borzoi was found in a dog park in Brandera, TX. He appears to be a young boy who loves everyone. He has been taken to the local shelter and will stay there for 3 days in the hope that his owner claims him. I have emailed and asked for colors or a picture and am waiting to hear back. Anyone sell a dog to that area of TX??? If so, please contact the people to see if this is their dog.

Maurugi and Makari missing since 10-24-2007, 9:15PM. 8 year old, intact male Borzoi/Russian Wolfhounds. mostly white with pale red, Approximately 33' tall and slender. Look like very tall greyhounds with long hair or tall, thin collies.

At the time they were lost, Maurugi was missing most of his hair from mid-back to tail tip from an allergic reaction to fleas. Makari was very itchy. The only flea spot treatment recommended by the vet for sensitive sighthounds was the one where the fleas have to bite them to die! Both boyz were miserable. I was bathing them every 3 to 4 days with a special, non-toxic flea shampoo.

Maurugi was wearing a rolled leather collar with not tags, they had fallen off in the backyard the day before. Makari's collar, which still has tags, was removed to bathe him. They wanted out so I let them go do their business and decided to finish a plumbing repair while they romped a bit. Last seen at the Denny's Restaurant across from the stadiums at I-70 and Blue Ridge Cutoff, Kansas City, Missouri. They appeared there about 9:30PM. They were there for 35 to 45 minutes going up to several people and trying to get into the restaurant and the hotel.

One woman who called from my poster said she called the police but they would only pick them up if they were being vicious or had bitten someone and to call back if they became vicious!!! They had no concept that people could be afraid of them or hurt them. They would go right up to people for help. A sighthound can be lost around the corner from their home. They do not pay attention to scent, they use their eyes and get lost just like little children.

I walked I70 from I435 to Sterling and I435 from 350 Hwy to 23Rd street on both sides, the night they were lost. I took a flash light, and searched the areas thoroughly,there were not dead or injured on the freeway. They have not been seen in my neighborhood. I put flyers on every door step and posters all over the neighborhood and area. such exotic looking dogs could not be missed. I think someone who saw them at Denny's or the Drury Inn must have taken them home. I certainly hope so as then they might be safe.

They kept me active during a 3 1/2 year recovery from a head injury. They are why I am okay today. They are the Boyz Brothers and my family. I worried sick about them and miss them more than mere words can convey.

Even if you live many miles from here. Travelers stop at Denny's. The boyz could be anywhere in the country by now. They will answer to their names, Maurugi and Makari Pronounced; Ma-rue'-ghee and Ma-car'-ee . Please!

***FOUND***

Two Borzoi were picked up as strays near Phoenix, AZ and are currently in foster care with an all breed rescue. We are working on getting them, but at this time are looking for their breeder in order to locate their owners. Both are intact and in bad shape.

The Girl with the red spots they think is 4 to 5 years old and weighs 48 pounds. The white Girl they believe is around 2 years old and weighs a little more. Both are in very rough shape and have Valley & Tick fever, which they are being treated for. These dogs could have been on their own for quite some time or not, we just don't know. No collar, chip or tattoo.

We are not looking for the breeder for any other reason then to find out who they were sold to. We have had no reports of stolen or missing Borzoi in this area.

To be honest, we really don't know how old either of the Girls are so anyone who has sold any intact female Borzoi to the Phoenix, AZ area, please take a look at them to see if they could be a Borzoi you bred.

We tried to get them and have done everything possible to have this group turn them over to NBRF but, no luck so far. Toni Paskey has been patiently working with the shelter and this group to get any information on them. We will continue working with them. Thank you Toni!! She has been wonderful and SO patient!! This has not been an easy job!

A young male borzoi has gone missing in west Fort Worth - his name is Gabriel, he is about 18 months, intact, almost all white with a little cream spotting. He is microchipped but was not wearing collar ID. Also missing is a 10 year old mixed breed - yellow lab
and other - about 60 pounds (Dog). Chances are good that Dog and Gabriel are running together, so if Gabriel shows up in a shelter, Dog may be there, too. Both animals are very sweet and friendly with strangers.

Gabriel's microchip is between his shoulder blades and is sometimes hard to read. The number is 4460536C61.

Paddy was lost at 1:30 pm. on July 25th at Broadway and Republican on Capitol Hill in Seattle, WA.

"Miss Biloxi" has passed over the bridge, but since she was found roaming in Gautier, MS, we are leaving her information up here in case someone is still looking for her.

She was at least 10+ years old and was found in Gautier, MS, exhausted and was taken in by a very kind lady who contacted NBRF. This lady ran an ad in her local paper and contacted all the shelters and Vets in the area - but got no response.
